Golden dungeon (spoilers)

Hi, while fighting the boss in the golden dungeon
Thanks.
- Spoiler:
- when you hit the ice cube things back at him a second one of the boss spawns and then proceeds to stay permanently stuck next to the player where ever the player moves, causing constant and unavoidable damage. I was wondering whether this was part of the boss or a bug.

Yeah happened to me as well but the little version of him you just have to hit it once and it goes away, at least it did for me

This was intended, you can kill the small version by hitting him.
