Can't enter the nether

I downloaded Aether yesterday as I was supposed to, and everything worked fine. I made my portal to the nether so I could go get some glowstone to make a portal to aether, (I don't like using TooManyItems, prefer to do it the hard way, it's more fun) but when I enter my nether portal, the game black screens and then crashes.

The other mods I have installed are GuiAPI and MoreOres. But I didn't think they have compatibility issues considering I can actually play, just not in the nether. Is there any way to fix that?

Sorry for the dumb question, but how do I go about doing that? Nothing pops up during/after it crashes.

after you download make sure your PATH is set right

MAke sure it looks like this

I see something called Path, but not PATH. I don't know if capitalization matters here. But if those are the same thing, My Path file looks completely different than those instructions say it's supposed to. Mine is Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\WindowsLive;C:\etc etc... If I change it to what the instructions told me to, will that mess anything up? And if I do do that, where does the errortest.bat go?

EDIT: Eventually the Path file starts looking like you said it should, I guess you just didn't give me the whole code. But the first time it said /Java/ Mine actually said/ATI TEchnologies/ so I had to change everything after that to match with what you posted. But when I click the .bat file (which is in my desktop) it doesn't do anything.

ANOTHER EDIT: I tried a different method for getting error reports and this is what minecraft gave me:
